SO ive got Thrips and im at 5th week off flowering got quite a few if someone could please help would really appreciate it I wonder if anyone knows if ladybugs will kill thrips or maybe Spinosad

If you have an advanced thrips infestation, apply a soap spray (neem product). The nematode Steinernema feltiae will control the pupae when applied to the soil and adults and larvae on the plant when applied as a foliar spray. The predatory mites Hypoaspis miles and Hypoaspis aculeifer will eat pupae in the soil. Amblyseius cucumeris can be introduced once a week, at a rate of at least 12 per sq/ft for every foot of plant height, until control is achieved. Release Orius insidiosus at a rate of 1 per sq/ft, 3 to 4 times weekly.

Never had a pest problem, but I would consider these ideas - seems like I would start with neem right away to create a hostile environment.

yea neem oil is pretty good stuff, all organic, just make sure to get a wetting agent with it so the oil mixes w/ the water...I used it for white flies in 2nd week of flowering and have been ok since...you might want to ask about spraying it when your plants are actuallu budding though... because the shit smells aweful! but the smell goes away in a couple of days, youll probly have to spray twice a week for 2 weeks

The last cuttings I got came with thrips, But I managed to get rid of them and they turned out just fine . I managed to catch it a bit earlier than you though (about 3 weeks into flower). Spinosad is supposed to be the best stuff to use as it is organic, but I wasn't able to find anywhere that sold it, so I had to find an alternative.

I used... Provado - Ultimate Bug killer (one application was all that was required)

The downside to using what I used is that although it is safe to use on vegetables etc.. it takes 2-4 weeks to not be harmful to humans depending on the crop. Which may be too late for you as you are in week 5.

It seems like everyone who uses spinosad says it works like a charm. Neem oil seems to have mixed reports as it works for some people and not others.

Thanx for all the info ill try to get my hands on some spinosad if not i was thinking my crap has an 8-9 weeks flowering cycle mabe its still not to late to use Provado? and did anyone here anything about Diatomaceous Earth

It takes 14-28 days to dissipate "Provado - Ultimate Bug killer" depending on the type of crop you are growing. Crops/vegetables that contain a lot of water take the longest times. I wasn't sure what to compare cannabis to, so I erred on the side of caution and used the upper limit of 4 weeks.

With spinosad I can only go by what I have read. but considering that it is USDA, OMRI listed and recommended by other cannabis growers who have used it, I would say your pretty safe. If I had had the choice, it is what I would have preferred to use. Have a little google around and see what cannabis growers who have used it have to say, I think it will put your mind at rest.

Best method I've found and is about a 1 inch layer of the finest playground sand I can find over the top of my soil. The bugs can't burrow through to lay eggs and the eggs that are there when they hatch they can't climb out and they die. It too about 24 hours to rid myself. I removed the sand after a week and haven't had a problem since.

I remembered that when I had this problem I read about some thrips living their larvae stage on the leaves. Whilst sand could help resolve/solve this issue it might not cure the problem on it's own depending on what type of thrips you have.

"There are different thrips found on different plants - rose thrips and gladioli thrips have been with us for a long time, but the major threat to commercial crops at the moment is the more recent "Western Flower Thrips". The adults lay their eggs in a pocket in the leaf, and the larvae emerge to feed on the plant - growing buds and flower buds are particular targets. Young thrips (larvae) are similar to the adult, but without wings. The very young ones are white, and the older ones yellow-brown. The larvae live on the plant, but when they pupate the pupa often drops to the soil. The pupae may hide on the soil compost for several days or several months before the adults emerge, so remember that soil can be a source of infection."

Very true. At least it is not expensive if it doesn't work and at worst you'll be removing the sand

Pyrithrum.

You have plenty of time. A doctor doom small fogger bomb. Only took one time to get rid of thrips but 2 may be required. Pyrithrum dissaptes in about 2 hours and no residue. Safe to use a few days before harvestbut I like a week or more. Any all pyrithrum will do even a good spray will knock them back till harvest.

If you go the neem way try Azamax put out by GH. It is neem concentrate and mixes well with water. It will wipe the hell out of thrips and spidermites. Very good in the mother vegg room.

I don't think I would use neem this late because of oily residue.
