So i read around and decided to follow some instruction from here

I soaked about an ounce of head shake the stuff left over in you bag in about 500ml of Isopropyl alcohol for 48 hours

i strained it and put it in a glass bowl in a electric fry pan half full of water double boiler style setup

When it was still the consistency of water i soaked 4 grans of head in it till it was all soaked into the buds
I let it sit for about 24hours in a warm corner till all the Iso evaporated

snipped little bits off and smoked it in a bong

DAMN GOOD STUFF i have been smoking for years and it was like the first time again bit of a cough starter but after a few cones

hi, made some oil myself but used petrolium ether, i wonder if you could tell me what your oil smells like as mine has a strong smell of tar, i don't no if this is due to using petrolium ether.

My favorite way of smoking oil is to put some in a tablespoon, heat from underneath with a torch lighter, and inhale with a straw. Actually what you are doing is vaporizing, not smoking.

Gets you stoned, but seems to be lacking some of the THC properties of smoking bud.

I recycle leaf that has been used to make water hash with. Gets me by when I am between crops for some reason.

More accurate I think is that it lacks cbd and cbn properties. You feel head high but your body is still jonseing.

I used 95% ethanol, and 99% iso. Both worked OK. I don't have access to the high grade chemicals like pet ether.

I'm getting ready to do a butane extraction, hope i don't blow myself up! Got high grade vector butane, Im thinking this will be the most efficient and effective solvent of the 3. Only $5 a can.

I recently began to make iso oil myself and have been very pleased with the results, especially considering I used to throw the stuff away that I make the oil from now...I'm old school and can remember my friends making it some 30+ years ago, (with those big old light bulb percolators you ordered from High Times) but I hadn't smoked any for many, many years. The first few tries came out nasty, and green, but I found if you freeze everything before hand it comes out very nice, lite brown and very hashy tasting. I used less than an 8th of trimmings and made a batch the other day and took it to play pool with 7 bros...we all stayed blazed all evening from the small amount of oil I made (maybe a gram)...we just put a drop on top of a bowl and smoked it, and repeated as necessary until wasted, which didn't take long! I've tried all the ways to make it except the expensive devices that recover the solvent, (Iso alcohol is cheap, so why recover it?) and the iso-evaporation extraction is by far the easiest, with good results. And yes, oil REALLY expands in your lungs, so take baby hits until you figure how hard to hit it...mine is very mild, sweet tasting and potent if you don't over-hit it...if you do over-hit it, it will nearly kill your lungs!

BTW, I don't soak it for 48 hours, I just vigorously shake the mix for 5 mins and then strain and filter...your getting a lot of waxy components from soaking too long if it's tarry tasting ...the stuff you want in your oil dissolves pretty fast, so no need to soak the solution for extended periods. You would be better off doing a second or third quick (5 mins) wash of what you have rather than extended soaking times imo.
