I guess IB doesn't realize that there is an Air Force Base in San Angelo, so its not some backwater. Plus, I hung with people not only AF but from UT Austin. And, one day in a bar playing three ball and drinking (my drinking days), I was getting the local color and the Texas attitude from this old boy. He told me that in Texas, they make their own rules, and gave me more information about Texas then IB ever could in the short time the old boy and I talked. Frankly, the majority of the Texans I knew and had dealings with were pretty decent people. Its the state government that sucks, an it also has a class system
    so to speak.

I also lived in the barrio near the Rio Grande, not far from a bridge and the old cavalry fort. I had Mexicans who lived behind me, and used to ask me for rides. And, they always gave up something for my trouble without asking. I even drank in the all Mexican-American bars by myself and never had any trouble. I can speak a bit of Espanol, and, I always had my white Stetson on. Beat them all at pool!!!! :smokin:

In my opinion, it doesn't matter where a person is, as long as they don't have to put up with needless bullshit, and asshole people who can't mind their own fucking business, tell everybody else how to live their lives, all the while they are screwing anyone and everyone. It seems that has become the American way.
