New 2Metre x 2Metre x 2Metre Setup
Hi Guys.
Im a newbe to growing and i want to run this set up by people who kno to see if it my best option.
I have a 2metre x 2metre x 2metre (6'4' x 6'4') Tent i want to use the following 12 pot system
GroWell > IWS Bubbler Systems
I also want to use a ScroG method, the lighting im using is 3 x 600w air cooled HPS.
Can you guys tell me if this would be enough light for 12 plants also is 12 plans too much for the area im working with.?
Using 12 plants in this area would be 3 plants per square metre
Also any feedback on possible yeild using this setup, i will be using AK47 clones.BalloonBoy Reviewed by BalloonBoy on . New 2Metre x 2Metre x 2Metre Setup Hi Guys. You could probably get away with two lights. Three will certainly saturate the space. Using scrog method it is usually recommended that you give at least 1 square foot / plant. However, I found that to be small. Of course it depends on how long you veg the plants and the stretch associated with your strain. You could grow 24 plants in that space if you keep the veg time to a week... Don't forget that you will need room to move around in the tent so that you can access the plants. You need to do the training and pruning not to mention watering and feeding. I would do U shape setup with a work space in the middle of the U. You can probably get 12 plants in there but 8 - 10 would be more comfortable. If you start with 12 then be prepared to cull a few to make space if needed, although this is difficult with scrog. Perhaps you could lay it out, build your screen and then use 1 foot and 2 foot squares of cardboard to see what will fit. The problem with scrog is that under estimating space requirements results in a seriously overgrown garden which of course pushes down yield. Yield is dependent on so many factors - the plant, how big it is allowed to grow, skill of the gardener, feeding regime, etc.

Thanks for the reply
I have infact changed my mind on the system, ive had a chat with a few pple who grow and ive ran this idea past them.
2.5M x 2.5M x 2M (metre) Tent holding 2x20 pot wilma systems, initally i will remove 10 pots from each system and grow from AK47 clones, 20 in total in 2seperate systems. so 10 pots each in 20 pot systems..? sound ok..?
The reason for removing the 20 pots is to allow more room fror the babys to grow, and this being my first grow im thinking do a few lesser plants it wont get out of control and i could manage them properly.
I have also just bought 4x600w air cooled HPS lights, im going to mount 2 lights over each wilma system, does this sound ok...?
I dont want to grow trees, id like to keep the hight to 4ft, about 1.2metres maximum, how long should i Veg for, im thinking about a week before i put them into flower, im using 20 cuttings cloned from a friends plant, how high should they be before i put them into the pots.? im thinking about 9 inches..?

Keep reading and talking to friends. You are on the right track. Arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible and you will learn a ton from your first grow. You are wise to start with a smaller initial grow. You can dial in the growing process and scale up after that.
As for plant height, this is very much strain dependent. Ask your friend how long he vegged his and how tall they grew. Some plants can double and even triple in size during flower. I suggest you anticipate doubling in size. So veg them to 1.5 feet and flip to flower - likely 3 to 4 weeks of growth. What happened to your initial idea of doing a scrog grow? Scrog allows you to easily control height without sacrificing the potential of the plant - bigger plant = bigger yield. It will also allow you to maximize yield for your space by giving all bud sites equal access to light. It takes about 2 weeks longer but is worth the effort. Once they half fill the screen you can flip to flower.
As when to drop them into the pots, I'm not a hydro grower so I can't really answer that. If it were soil you'd drop them into the pots as soon as the clones showed root growth of 1/2 to 1 inch.
You have ton of lighting. Not over kill but close. Your plants will do very with that coverage.

New 2Metre x 2Metre x 2Metre Setup
Thanks mate, the main reason for not doing a Scrog was that it seemed to advanced for my first grow, when I get everything set up I mite place a screen over and create a scrog 1 wilma system and leave the other to free grow.. Probably not possible, I'll see how I go, I'm going to create a journal of my grow from day 1.. To log and see my results..
Thanks again for the advice..
Peace..

It isn't that difficult. Just requires a bit more reading and research. You are just adding another step. They call it an "advanced" growing technique but really, you just put the screen over top and tuck the stems back under the screen whenever they grow through. It involves a few weeks of work but once the training is done you are off to the races.
