how to end with 12 12 I choose

OK so I want to have my lights on from 7:30 to 7:30 as my 12 ,12 what hours would I pick for 18 on- do I cut the 6 hours from the front, back or split the time- I will turn my grow-room on this week for the first time and have no idea what hours to choose in the beginning- help please!!

Huh, never gave it much thought, but I normally add the 6 hours of dark time while keeping "sunset" the same.

I doubt that it matters much how you make the transition, really. People use so many different schedules for veg, and use varying lengths of initial darkness to enter flowering, too. You have to take care when adjusting the schedule during flowering, but the transition isn't super critical.

You can use 24/0 light or 18/6 to begin with veg phase...the differences between the 2 are debatable...I use 24/0. The 12/12 is for the flowering phase, although 13/11 seems to be used lately with good results(bigger buds?). It really makes no difference, I have noticed, how you split the additional hours of light when adding hours of light...at the start, finish or splitting the difference. This is usually a one time thing and the plants will adjust to whatever you give them after a few days regardless of how you divide it up. Depending on what type of lights you have and how much electricity you want to pay for should be a consideration as 24/0 will cost you another 25% over 18/6. I actually did 12/12 to induce flowering for 2 weeks and then went to 13/11 (where I currently am at this point in this grow) We shall see what happens! Good luck and I hope this helps!

It doesn't really matter. I personally move the lights off time by 6 hours so my feeding time doesn't move (I grow in pots and feed manually).

So I veg from 8pm to 2pm and flower from 8pm to 8am.
