    Help with germinating!

    I need help with germinating!

I'm almost finished with my hydroponic system (DWC) and I am not sure how to sprout my seeds, considering I need the seeds to be constantly wet to germinate.

Do I fully submerge my net pots into the water, or do I start them in a germinator?

Any advice would help just please don't put some "I don't know buddy, why don't you let me know if you figure how to do that" like bull shit, this tends to happen to me a lot, lol I guess?

    Thanks, Alantae

    Help with germinating!

You can germinate your seeds in either a rockwool plug or even better, a rapid rooter. Once the seed is established in the plug/rooter you can then put it into the dwc system. The water level will need to be high enough to splash and hit the bottom of the netpot until you get roots that reach down for water.

I even sometimes top feed the basket with a dropper until the roots head south.

My very first DWC grow I actually germed in paper towel and CAREFULLY placed the seed directly in the hydroton. I dont recommend this but it is possible.

Some of the best advice I ever got from these forums were to start using rapid rooters...

    Goodluck!

    Help with germinating!

I'm literally strting a few Seeds today and basically using dwc as well only I use a halo drip system with an air pump

so for germinating I always soak my seeds for at least 24 hours in some PHd water ( water in a jar, put the cap on it ) leave it on your dresser

then I check the PH of the water again and soak a paper towel in the same water and dump out the rest

Seeds go in the towel that is damp NOT SOAKED! Put seeds like an inch apart from eachother

what I do next is then put the paper towel in the jar, and then cap it again....from the few experiments I've done with germinating cutting off the fresh oxygen has made the seeds sprout like rediculously fast and strong

don't open for like 3 days, your patience will be rewarded!!

I put my seedlings in rockwool TAPROOT dOWN!! that is soaked in again PHd water! The I leave them under at lights till the roots start showing thru the sides or bottom

then right into the hydroton, but soak the rocks over night and make sure PH is right

big thanks to tiny, shake, and GTOD

eveyrything I learned I got from their posts and reading their grow logs and threads so I reccomend you do the same if you want some headie bud

    Help with germinating!

We do basically the same thing with papertowel but we use a ziplock bag instead of a jar. Everyone has their own lil "trick" when it comes to all parts of growing. All anyone can really do is try one and then another until you find out what works best for you.
