I had that model. It lasted one winter season, then it no longer worked. I don't think it's a bad model, but it depends what you are do with it. In my case I was trying to dehumidify too large an area, and it was constantly running. I purchased on online, ($1200), and its beautiful... never a problem.

my basement is 11'12 x 12'9 and 5'9 feet tall plus the area of the steps down to it. my humidity stays around 50 to 60 when lights are on but reach up to 90 when off. i have one moldy bud so far. there a cemented out square in the ground that all the water seeps into, got to cover that up to, its got a sub pump so it doesn't over fill. any who, just looking to get the most bang for my buck.......

Well FWIW mine is about twice that. I guess you take your chances, but remember, those Home Depot or Lowes are for residential use, generally they are not built as strong as the commercial units. When I turn mine on, it acutally takes 10-15 minutes before it starts. It actually tests the humidity in the air, and depending on the setting will determine if it goes on or not. I actually have mine draining into a sump pump.
