    New PH Meter

So I just got my first PH meter and it is a Hanna $50 meter. I know a cheaper meter is not as good as it should be but my question is why wont the meter reading stabilize? I have done the calibration and it seemed to be fine. However when I try testing my water no matter how long I leave it in it constantly changes. What am I doing wrong or is this just how they work?

I have a Hanna and I've found that it doesn't completely stabilize.. if you have a model with the ATC, there should be a little clock when you first submerge the probe.. when that clock disappears, then I take my reading.. it never totally stops moving though.. it creeps the longer you leave it in there.

It could very well improveā?¦..if you use the storage solution between uses.
My new probe moved at a snails paceā?¦.and bounced around a littleā?¦.but after a week or two it became much more reactive in speed and only vacillates say .01-.02 if at all.

    How large are the swings?

    Luck to you,
