It's kinda funny the way the nutjob teabaggers gave the senate back to the Dems. If they would have run normal people in Nevada, Connecticut, and Deleware, instead of psychos, the Reps would be in control of the Senate too. Instead, all they took was the House. Thanks to the teabaggers, they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Also Alaska, where a write in canadate beat crazy Joe Miller. No loss there.

Forgive me for reviving this, but I haven't been on in awhile and felt the need to respond to this. I'm well aware that Obama's as much of a corporate puppet as anyone, which is most of what prevented him from being left-wing enough. The idea of Obama being a socialist is so ridiculous mostly because he's really not even a liberal...no major U.S. politician is. Their political system is structured so that real left-wing politics never have a chance--the voters have a choice between Mr. Right Wing and Mr. Right-of-Centre, and somehow still feel free--a truly impressive duping. I was merely voicing my own disappointments, while not being ignorant of the impossibility of such a thing happening. On "change" he did protest too much, and only the notes of hollowness ever escaped his lips. The president is indeed lousy, but not because he likes health care: because he won't consider things like cutting defence spending, or legalizing weed, or getting rid of private prisons.
