That's pretty damn optimistic. I see things only getting worse at the federal level; do you really think the new teabaggers in congress will support any of this?

This really needs to happen with a careful and measured state law that inspires other states to follow, in opposition to federal law. Federal law will simply go unenforced for a while, and then eventually, someday, repealed. This has to be a bottom up change.

Prop 19 was just about perfect and the best chance that's going to come along in a good while was just wasted. This is the fault of moralizers, the uninformed masses, and those waiting for the "perfect" proposition to come along, waiting to legalize nationally all at once (not gunna happen), or who selfishly wanted to maintain their profits under the current system.

This is a very sad result...
