uhhh, help lol
i just put 2 seeds that i had sink in a shot glass of water in FFOF soil under a 2 foot 2 lamp t5 fixture. i checked them today and noticed that possibly during watering the first day to get the soil moist, one of the seeds came above ground.. it may have been above ground for a day of light, is this plant done for? i have another seed germinating just in case but should i try to keep this seed?

also, how the f*ck are you supposed to start your seeds after making sure they are viable in a shot glass of water? i keep reading different shit everywhere and i wanna know if they need light, or to keep in a dark room, idk what to do lol

uhhh, help lol
seeds don't need light to germinate. water is abosorbed into the seed and it activates hormones (auxin, gibberilins, cytokinins) which tell the seed to start growing. this causes the shell to crack, the taproot to start down, and the cotyledon start up.
is the seed still hard or is it squishy? if is't squish scrap it. once you see a tap root, place in the dirt, at the depth of ~1 seed.
good growing!
