Pretty common problem with air cooled hoods. It's a pretty easy fix, but unfortunately, less of a pain in the ass if done *before* they are installed.

I just lay down a bead of silicone on the glass (both sides) to better seal that particular area. The glass normally is supposed to compress a closed cell foam gasket that in most cases, is insufficient. The glass seal is usually the biggest leak, and the one that's the bigger pain to fix. No big deal if done beforehand though.

The other leaks, like around the flanges, are basically the same. If the flanges are secured with screws, disassemble and do the same, lay down a bead of silicone sealant. If secured with rivets, either drill them out to remove the flange or just try and put a bead on the outside edge of the spot where it mates with the hood. Any other spots, same deal, lay down some sealant.

Depending on how warm your hoods get, and if the appearance doesn't matter to you, you may be able to just slap some duct tape over the offending areas. In my experience though, the heat will make the tape adhesive ooze a bit, and tends to look like hell.

The quickest fix to stop the odor, is to reverse your fan direction. This actually makes the leaks a little worse, (mainly the glass seal) but if your grow space can handle the extra warm air that will be introduced, it could get you through to harvest. Then, you could do the proper fix.
