    brr cold

OK, somehow there was an unnoticed power outage taking out the heat(I hate shed grows) for say <12 hours with lights off. It was 5-10f outside.

3 plants, two different jack the ripper phenos and one blue cheese. All three started flowering 19 days ago.

Now mind you, the exhaust fan kept running (not good). It was 36f inside the tent, inside the shed, when situation discovered.

One plant is fine, one (jtr) shows a little effect, some slight browning of hairs (bc), and one plant (other jtr) has had some significant toasting of the hair, death of some fans, and some curl (like the tips are twisting downward towards their stems).

I feel fine about plants 1 and 2, they'll make it. Plant 3 (other jtr) is the conundrum. They did get watered and fed that night (it was time) with lukewarm water in an effort to not shock them. The flowers on 1 and 2 look great, oddly the ones on the jtr that has done well look plumper and more invigorated by their brush with death.

Anybody ever get plants close to freezing and what happened?

Totally legit grow in CO MMJ patient blah blah blah.

    Hi there herbaltivo,

Not sure why nobody piped up to answer you, but maybe I can try. A couple of years ago I started up a grow in an unheated building, in the basement where it got cold enough to form ice on the walls. Similar deal as you, lost the electric heater during lights out. Plants showed similar things as you've seen, but all recovered tho it slowed things down for a little while, about a week if I recall correctly.

The plant that seems to be the better for it, just might be like people; adversity that dosen't kill you, just makes you stronger.

I was lucky and my out door girls finished before the really cold weather set in!!

I've never had a plant come close to freezing, but so long as they survived I'd say they're gonna be fine, tho like oldmac said, your probably going to see some setback.

Can I ask why outdoors in a shed and not indoors where you have a more controlled environment?
