    The best way to hermie?

Ive done alot of reading about light stressing but i was just curious as to what was the best way to hermie a fem and about how long before they show signs of changing? Any input would be greatly apreciated since im new and dont think i can handle cloning as of yet

You can shear a sheep many times but you can only skin it once. :chainsaw:

you've got a better chance of getting a grasp on cloning before you do breeding. just get a pack of regular seeds or or use some bagseed and get a male if you insist.

    The best way to hermie?

The problem I ran into is I planted from bagseed just to get the hang of growing so i germinated quite a few expecting around half of them to be males. Lets just say now i have 16 females and no males. I even had to move over half of them outside due to room issues. I would like to try cloning but im already flowering and i read to only do it during veg. Now that im at this stage i would like to try and stress one of them out and try for some fem seeds if i can. Its a shot in the dark but im up for trying anything.

you can clone in flower. it's just the longer in flower they are, the more difficult/less likely to be successful the clones will be.

you'd be just as well suited to scrap your weaker(est) females. next run just start more bagseed.

Have you thought of re-vegging? (there's a link in my signature) Easy and reliable. After you start the re-veg process, you can easily take clone cuttings to play around with.

Thanks for the help. Greatly appreciated. Hey Rusty, Im about 3 weeks into flowering so im gonna give the reveg a try when I harvest. I still have a little ways to go but i read your link several times and im gonna give it a try when im done. In the meantime i have one plant that im gonna experiment with and try to hermie. Ive read a bunch about what not to do or you could turn it into a hermie so im gonna try it all haha. Poor plant haha

Hermie and female nanners are two dif things. Small light leaks makes mine hermie. Not what I wanted. Hermies have male balls and their offspring will tend to be hermies.

Without using chemicals it is trial and error. What works for us is to turn down the temp of the AC in the last 4 weeks of harvest. With 5 strains we have femm beans. All strains act dif. 100 percent indica orange bud will just barely make some naners while S.A.G.E. just goes crazy if you get it cold. You will only get a few seeds this way.

The thing is to have a group of females ready within 2 weeks of harvesting nanners. Nanners are very hard to harvest but should be kept in the fridge untill needed. Polen will only last about two weeks alittle longer in the fridge.

Not if the femming is properly done with a stable strain. Passing-on old wives tales is fine if you like to perpetuate misinformation, but EVERY cannabis plant I have ever worked can hermie under the right conditions. This is but one of many of the survival tactics of this family of plants, and every strain I have ever worked with has this ability.

If you see nanners on a female, they are female nanners, not male nanners. The pollen from them will pollinate any female, but the resultant seeds WILL be female, as there are no male chromosomes in the pollen.

Femming is not a handy trick the Dutch bred into the strains a few years ago...it's a biological response developed over thousands of years.

Hey Rusty, Do you know of any forums or sites that will elaborate more on femming? On one of my other threads someone told me that since all of my bag seeds turned out female that chances are that im gonna have 25% hermie and 75% females. Any truth to that? Im just trying to learn all i can before i start my good seeds.
