newbie grower from scotland who needs help

hi all im new to growing and need some help and advice with tweeking my set up
im using a bubbler system and was really wondering how far from the bottom of my pots should the water level be??and also need some nutrient advice,got some easyrider from amsterdam seed co.on the way.yay.
any help would be greatly appreciated or just say hello.lol.
