You might even call yourself a hero. Here are my top ten reasons why.

10) To appreciate how hard your caregiver works.
Your first crop is practically guaranteed to fail. As an experienced gardener, I took on mine with the love of a farmer and the brain of a scarecrow -- all straw. Too much advice from too many schools of thought led me to forge my own path. But when I accidentally left my greenhouse door shut, my emerald field of green, just five weeks out from harvest, was baked into oblivion. Kind bud has a steep learning curve.

When you get your card and set up your own legal home grow, you are entering into a movement and making a political statement. In effect, you are encouraging local agriculture and exercising a constitutional right enjoyed by few others on the face of the earth -- the constitutional right to grow pot.

8) To stimulate your brain.
Setting up a grow system takes a certain amount of critical thought. You'll have to decide if you want to grow hydro or in soil, under lights or under the sun, which nutrients to dabble in and whether you'll be starting from seed or clone. All these decisions and more will influence the outcome of your crop -- and along the way, the brainteasers will serve as an interesting challenge, especially to those tinkerers out there who have never outgrown trying to make a bong out of an Erector Set.

1) last but not least (drumroll please) after a nominal startup cost it runs aboot $10 an oz to grow your own and when you get good enough youll never see another caregiver or dispensary again. the quality is better, trust me. plus your miss will put out more

I've read some info on Prop 19 and I'm not impressed. Is it at least a step in the right direction - yes but it's going to make things a pain in the arse too and is going to be amended and adjusted time & time again. Lawyers are loving what they see in Prop19.

Maybe Cali should do what CO originally did - amend the state's constitution. In other words, being able to medicate is my constitutional right! Lately though CO is becoming a pain in the arse too. But if you're just a personal grower - it doesn't get any better than here.

I was at a newish MMC in south denver today, and over the course of our conversation, something interesting came up and I'm not sure if I got accurate info or not.

The owner said that if a patient who grows their own medicine signs over an MMC as their primary caregiver, that the patient can then sell their personal overage to the MMC under the 30% of vertical integration.

My question is, wouldn't that turn a patient into an off site grow or something? What if two patients living under one roof both have edible cards for 25 plants. Can we grow ~50 plants and sell the 'overage' to the MMC we signed up with? To make this simpler, let's go back to 6 plants max. 2 patients could grow enough from 12 plants to sell 'overage' and make it worth it? There are no caregivers, only patients. Is this MMC getting bad advice?

In this example, would this patient be allowed to purchase from a caregiver/non MMC or patient to patient, or would this tie the patients to MMC's only?

im no lawyer, but the way i understand it is 6 plants per household you cant have 2, 6, 10 people growing under one roof that would be a co-op. when you assign a caregiver you give up your right to grow i dont believe your allowed your six plants. with the new bill i dont think you can sell overages to a dispensary unless you become an employee or get your permits and become organized with them as always check with an attorney.
