You grow 3 and the MMC grow 3, or whatever ratio you decide. Collectively you can only a total of 6 and stay within the criminal exception to the law. Any more than that and you get to prove yourself in court if caught.
Hmm... this is different than another interpretation I've heard, namely that the plant limit is not shared between you and the MMC. Too bad they only leave the regulations vague where it benefits their ability to profit and prosecute more people.
