Eating cannabis raw
From the article:
"One of the drawbacks of eating marijuana leaf is the common complaint of stomach irritation. The top side of cannabis leaves are coated with thousands of microscopic thorns, and these sometimes cause minor intestinal irritation, even after grinding. For some patients, the use of leaf in Mari Pills is not tolerable, and in such cases, the use of buds alone, without the addition of leaf, is preferred. Note: the small leaves found in the marijuana flower tops are not as difficult to digest as the large "fan" leaves that grow from the stems. Also, the small bud leaves are far more potent than the larger leaves required for photosynthesis. As a general rule, the smaller leaves growing closest to the flower tops are closest to the plant's resin glands, and therefore have the greatest amount of medicinal compounds."

Been eating raw cannabis for years with no known ill effects.
Has been common knowledge for as long as I can remember. Of course, never listening to the insight of those before me, I tried a few times.

The dryness ensures that the thca has had the opportunity to convert to thc. Columbian, in it's heyday, was pleasantly moist. And though it was the strongest pot I had smoked when it was being imported, my opinion is that modern day pot is much stronger, and I am sure better cured than mass produced imports.
The other factor that I think comes into play is that I abandoned my professional smoking status 15 years ago when I got married and only smoke about two smallish joints a week. With occasional binges of smoking. edibles, and tinctures when not around my non smoking wife. This makes my tolerance very low and greatly magnifies the effects of pot no matter how I consume it. On a side note my wife was out of the country for a few weeks this spring and after about 10 days of smoking everyday my tolerance was up and my level of stonedness per amount consumed went down.
It was looking for info on eating raw weed that brought me to this and other pot related websites, there are others who share my views and experiences, but as a whole most (many who have never tried) claim it doesn't work. It is more expensive and as your quoted article states, at times for me it is more of a very marijuana influenced sedation. But I have found that very nice at social functions when I don't want to look or smell like I just smoked a joint. If you are an every day smoker, this may not have much effect on you. Also if I am mentally involved in something that requires concentration I do get a sort of not enough sensation.
As for people with stomach problems not being able to eat it raw, I have always had a cast iron stomach so that isn't an issue for me. Then again my father in-law couldn't eat strawberries because of diverticulitis.
Not trying to fight, but this summer makes me a 41 year smoker and eating raw weed works for me.
