Is it worth even trying????

Hey ive never grown before and dont have the money to buy all the lighting needed quite yet, would it be stupid to try and grow an autoflowering seed under a 80w gro-lux flouro tube, would it even produce bud? advice would be great, cheers.

that really all depends on you. it should make bud. they will be light and airy though. you can always add some CFLs around when you are able. the knowledge you gain will be invaluable. it really all depends on you.

it might sound a little cheesy but if i was in your position (Not alot of cash, first grow and i dont know much about growing or even if i like it and can keep anything alive) ...id start with some lettuce. lettuce is nice because it takes hardly any light to grow, finish's in under 50 days and lets you get your feet wet in the horticulture field... pot is a vry forgiving plant, but if u actually want to grow some quality bud with a high yield it takes ALOT of work and the start up cost is rather expensive.

Ether way, no mater what you grow, you learn SO MUCH, those first few grows! Give it a shot! Only thing i rly suggest is Read the forums until you think you no everything about how to grow pot, and then read some more!

Something tells me a few grams of bud and the experience of giving a basic MJ grow a shot would reward the thread starter more than producing something he can put in his sandwiches!

I'v seen alot of newbies attempt to grow and think its guna be so ez only to have there dreams shattered and never attempt again. but for some ppl all they need is just a little taste of growing and they are hooked for life!
