Relatively new to rolling my own joints

I've been smoking weed for a bit now but I never roll my own because I'm always with people who know how to roll properly, most of them are smokers. I've seen how people do it (using rizla filter papers, rolling tobacco and cardboard roach) but I have no idea about which parts of the weed you can use (what do the buds look like?), how you cut the bits you need and what you don't need (without a grinder), how much to put in or even how to roll the thing (I don't smoke you see). I'd like to be able to roll my own in case I'm with anybody else who can't roll or even if I just want a little smoke by myself.

just have a professional smoker roll an extra one and keep it in a safe....:lol5::rhinoceros:

I recommend a lady smoker. They always roll the best ones. I've been rolling since '67...and still haven't got the hang of it, yet.

Rollin' by hand isn't that hard once you get the knack. But, in your case, go buy a Top rolling machine. They are only a couple of bucks and take the learning curve out of the picture. I learned to roll with Gideon's Bible pages!!!!!!! :S2:

My advice is to practice practice practice! Everyone has their own method, their own secrets. I roll completely different joints from my friends- mine don't always look the best, but they've always been very functional.

    Also, rolling machines are great!

Dude don't buy a rolling machine.. that is money you could spend on weed!

Look up videos on youtube of how to roll. Then practice. You won't be very good for a while. And if you're worried about wasting weed, bum a cig off a smoker one night, cut it open and practice with tobacco.

I too recently have started rolling joints. I never really rolled my own because like you there was always someone that could roll quicker and better than me so I just never really did it. Well now that I got a vape bowls are just a little too harsh for me. So when i'm out and about I have to roll joints because they same to hit smoother than any bowl I've tried after the vape(besides a bubbler).

Well I have noticed that the quality of the weed makes a hell of a difference. Meaning the sticker the weed the better(easier to mold it into shape and easier to keep all the weed it). I always roll my joints bigger in the middle and I twist the ends. So that it stays nice and fresh till i'm ready to smoke it. Then when its time I'll just use some scissors to cut the ends off and enjoy. They always smoke amazing, not to tight, not to loose.

Took me a while before I could roll a pretty J.
I'm a smoker, and actually got a pack of rollies, just so I could practice.

As one of those professional lady smokers, let me offer this advice:

Prepare your herb by not grinding, but breaking into little even chunks about the size of a typical seed. Be sure to remove all seeds and stems.

take a portion of this blend and place it in the middle of your rolling paper.

cut this pile in 2 sections and move the 2 mounds toward the right and left edges of the paper. Leave about 1/3 of the total amount still in the center and evenly distributed out to the right and left mounds. Make sure the 1/3 each mounds at each end are not at the very end... about the length of the mound away from each edge.

wrap the paper around this and "roll it" between your fingers distributing the herb evenly along the joint. This is what it means to "roll" a joint. You should end up with a very nice, evenly distributed and very professional looking joint.

Gently tuck each end or with your finger tips close the ends a bit to hold in the herb by rolling to a tight cone just at the ends.

If you see clearly a fatter end and a skinnier end, keep practicing... but always light the fat end.

    Enjoy! :stoned:
