I went home in pain, woke up in pain and finally called my adult daughter. I told her I wanted some pot, bring me anything she could get, I was going to give it a try for pain relief.

Well what do ya know, it DOES work for pain. I have not had a feeling of being "high", not even once since I started smoking the day before my 42nd birthday. But I have had periods lasting up to an hour that were totally pain free.

Which is how I ended up here, researching, learning.. and I suppose I will venture into trying to grow it myself. I see my doctor again next week, I have told her on many visits that I was strongly considering smoking to help with pain- she always just grins, nothing more. The ER doctor, however, agreed it would be better for me then the 100+ vicodin I consume every month and still suffer in pain.


So here I am, ready to learn.. I even told my own mother, who then asked if I had enough to get me through.. which I found amusing, as if she were going to be running out to find it for me.

I am not a drinker, and had not smoked pot since I was maybe 18 or 19, and then I really didn't care for it. Other then the one time I revenge smoked against my ex, who is a heavy user, he was on his last joint at an extremely dry time. I was mad, smoked the entire thing behind a locked door, then passed out for three hours. It was the only way I could think of to get back at him for acting like a jerk, and have it hurt. It worked, he was never a jerk again (at least in the scope of his then jerkiness).
