    First attempt to grow

Here's the situation... Buddy of mine gave me some seeds, figured I'd germinate and give it a shot at gettin them to grow. As of right now I got 3 plants growing. I've been putting them on my windowsil and they've been getting some good light, then I put them in my closet under a 65w basic light for a couple more hours. Should I be doing this? Lightening is gonna be a problem. Any tips or advice on what I should would be helpful. The plants are about a week old. Heres a couple pics:stoned:

they look good for their age .don't overwater.....ur babies need a wet/dry cycle.....don't give em any food until 3rd or 4th set of true leaf and then only a weak feeding = 200ppm if ur soil has timed release nutes don't feed at all until plant shows deficiency ....PH the water/nutes to 6.2-6.5....repeat and be more specific about ur indoor light.....good luck and post updates

Regular incandescent bulbs are useless for growing. If you're on a budget I would recommend getting at least two 23watt cfl bulbs per plant.
I have read that it's not good to go back and forth between sunlight and artificial lighting.

Welcome to the boards and Happy Growing :hippy:

Right. I picked up a four pack of 40w CFLs yesterday at a Home Depot for under ten bucks.

Oh & another question about the lighting. For the 2 23w cfl lights, what kind of light fixture should I use. Right now I have one of the clamp fixtures, here's a pic

That or something you can hang, just take the clamp of that if you can hang it.

If you got a Y adapter, they screw into a socket and you can screw two lights into them, you could put two or more bulbs per light.

The hood may need to be modified if its to small or more that one light may not fit in the fixture.

At this stage more light = more growth is basically true as long as the lights do not burn the plants or cause too much heat the more lights the better.

Use 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower...

    No worries...

Good luck with the grow. Ask if you need help, I'd rather ask a dumb-ass question that make a dumb-ass mistake...

    And, welcome to can.com
