germination for the newbie
Just as there are many ways of growing there are just as many ways of germinating seeds. i have a found a great way to germinate seeds and i will explain why it is the best way to germinate a seeds, so bare with me as i explains the reasons why i germinate this way.
as the seed germinates it grows in teo directions one send its first set of leafs to the surface and sending out its tap root into the dirt. this tap root is the most important part of the young seedling life. not only is it the first root to feed the young seedling it is also anchoring the itself to the growing medium we are using. studies have shown if this tap root is allowed to curl up under the medium we are using will cause stress in its yound life and gives a higher percentage of males.
using the paper towel, the soaking and such of those ways require us to touch and move the plant many times in its young life creating more chances of error on our part. as gentale as we think we are errors still happen so i am going to show a way to limit the factors to such errors.
i grow using 3 inch net pot with pea gravel/hydroton. i like the pea gravel as it is heavier and i feel gives the plant more stablity an it grows. so i here is how i set up to germinate my seeds. i soak my rockwool cubes in a 25% solution of cutting edge solutions. this is the nutes i prefer as they contain a ph buffer that will bring the ph down to 6.5. i place a little gravel on the bottom of mt new pot and then place the rockwool cube in the center and fill in around the cube to keep it steady and centered.
i take my seed right from the package and place it into the aready made hole in the cube. and then place the pot, cube and seed under a humidity dome. now my seed is germinating in its perminate home from day1
so here are all the benifits from germinating the seed in its perminate home. first off it allows the tap root to do its job. it allows it to grow down and achor the root to get it to grow strong. i only have to touch the net pot and nothing else incase i have any germs on my hands such a nicotine with is very deadly to plants for us smokers.
i mean how can you go wrong from only touching the seed one time and that is just to place it in the hole. i have taken out all the human error that can happen using the other methoids. i know the reason for the other methoids and it to make sure that you have a viable seed. it only takes a few day to see if it you seed is viable with my methoid and should your seed not sprout simple take a pair of tweeser and remove the unsprouted seed and place a new one and start over. thanks for reading along with me as i have tried to explain a very simple effective way of germinating seeds and eliminating many of the human factors that could go wrong with the other methoids of germination. should you have any questions please feel free to ask. i have been growing for 4 years now. and we 1 kid in college and 2 in private school i have found many a way for diy's that are very efficiant and cost effectiveleftreartire Reviewed by leftreartire on . germination for the newbie Just as there are many ways of growing there are just as many ways of germinating seeds. i have a found a great way to germinate seeds and i will explain why it is the best way to germinate a seeds, so bare with me as i explains the reasons why i germinate this way. as the seed germinates it grows in teo directions one send its first set of leafs to the surface and sending out its tap root into the dirt. this tap root is the most important part of the young seedling life. not only is it the Rating: 5
