Bad trip or bad bud?

Hey guys, long time reader first time poster

I was just wanting to get some peoples opinions on this experience i had a few days ago where i flipped out after just one cone.

I have been smoking weed for about 2 years now and have had WAY more than one cone at a time before without any problems at all. After about 5 mins from hitting a cone from a plastic bong my heart started beating really fast (i counted 140-150 bmp) so i went and lay down and tried to relax but it just got worse and i started tripping out, feeling like i was going to have a heart attack. My heart eventually slowed down to about 110-120 bpm but it stayed like this for about 4 hours before i went to sleep.

Has anyone ever had an experience similar to this or can explain to me how this happened? Did i have a weird reaction or just make the heartbeat worse from anxiety?

What you had was a panic attack. You probably smoked some good sativa and you just weren't used to its effects, which differ from the Indica you most likely have been getting(at least I mostly get indica here). Then because you were high you started to focus more on your heart beating which made it beat faster. I am no doctor but I've seen it happen way to often when someone smokes a really good sativa for their first time.

Not that uncommon, really. I had that happen to me once. I was in a really bad setting, and started getting a little paranoid. That combined with some really intense, kinda freaky music set me over the edge and I had to get some water and sleep it off.

I encountered something really weird last night. I smoked a buttload of some potent sativa, was really high like normal. Then I bought this double-filtration bubbler, thing is pretty good, too good. After a couple of bowls off this new piece, I started to feel really dizzy and had to lie down. Passed out for a few hours and awoke, my head was spinning in circles and I felt really cold. All night long, I felt like I had some huge fever and felt this incredible vertigo. Man it was weird. I feel like a newbie.
