Alright, I'll say what I use and probably get laughed at but here goes. Buy the cheapest organic topsoil you can find at Home Depot for a few bucks a big bag....throw in a couple shovels of peat moss and maybe a half shovel of Kellog's amend. You end up with an airy, crumbly good draining soil for outside pots and you can feed your plants with various nutes without worrying about burning them up with all the expensive nutes that are in hot soil.

Don't make your soil too hot nor buy the soil that already has nutrients in it and NEVER buy the moisture retaining potting soil, you'll end up with sludge.
