    Quick Question bout lights?

Depends on style of growing and such. You could have 1 big mofo plant as already suggested or you could do 9-12 seperate DWC buckets, really a tough question without more info.

    Quick Question bout lights?

between 1 and 60. is that a good range?

if you're just beginning aim for 1. if you're lazy go for the 1.

if you don't mind putting in work and want maximum yield aim for something as close to 60 as possible.

    Quick Question bout lights?

a 1000 watt MH or HPS should have a lumen output around 100,000 to 140,000. Using the inverse square law (Light output/distance from light source squared or L/D^2)to figure out light dispersal, you can see that a 1,000 watt bulb can effectively distribute 10,000 lumens (The Magic number) four feet from the bulb in all directions. Using a parabolic wing reflector increases this total area, as light that would normally go up is redirected down to the floor. It's not the number of plants necessarily but the size of your growing area. Without a decent reflector your limited to a 4x4 growing area. I use this formula to figure out where lights belong when designing buildings at my day job.
