    Weird Coloring ??

Very strange. Took a course last year entitled 'Ecology & Evolution', which I highly recommend to anyone growing cannabis and into breeding. This looks like an altered genotype caused by a random mutation.

The mutation isn't necessarily bad, since it hasn't appeared to cause the plant any harm (as of yet). In fact the mutation is neutral or good, if anything. The mutation has contributed to the plants' fitness, since it's the only survivor of the adverse conditions (whatever they might've been) that caused your other plants' death.

I'd suggest keeping it, cloning it, propagating it. I'm excited to see what will become of this plant.

    Keep us posted!
if you\'re going through hell, keep going

MadSativa: I am fairly confident that this is not fungus or bacteria. Zoom in on the first pic in my last post, and you will see it more in depth.

WashougalWonder: Thanks for the tip on the white under the canopy. I will change this out today and see what happens.
Troubleshooting form will be filled out in my next post.
"Monster Jelly" I have been told on these boards that it is a form of cyano-bacteria. Here is a link to a post that describes it very well.

purpleskunk777: This is also what I am leaning towards. Hoping for some great results from a mutation.

What is your experience level? (first timer, novice, experienced...)Newb (second grow)

What type of hydro set-up are you running? Recirculating Deep Water Culture

    Your Equipment:
    A) Type and wattage of lights. (MH, HPS, CFL's, tube fluorescents, LED's)400w MH
    B) Distance from tops? About 11"
    C) Reflector type? (cool tube set-up, bat wing, enclosed reflector, bare bulb...)Homemade enclosed and air cooled hood
    D) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule?400w MH on 18/6
    E) Is there a consistent fresh air supply?Yes
    F) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan?Yes, 4" Vortex and 6" inline duct fan for the exhaust system. Three oscillating fans inside the cabinet.
    G) Size of reservoir?Total system is 15 gallons, but only running between 7-8 gallons.
    H) What medium if applicable.Hydroton

    Your nutrients and water:
    I) If using rockwoll for clones or seedlings, did you rinse the cubes well, with properly ph'd water?N/A I used Rapid Rooters for germination.
    J) Source of water. (tap or filtered)Started with RO, but after this jelly stuff I have been using tap. Tap sits out at least 24hr before use. What's it's ph?Starting ph is between 7.5-8.3. Corrected to 5.6-5.8
    K) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule.
    Cutting Edge solutions 3-part @ 6ml/gal each.
    CalMag+ @ 5ml/gal
    Thrive Alive B-1 @ 1ml/gal
    Grotek Pro-Silicate @ 2.5ml/gal
    General Hydroponics Sub Culture-B @ 1/2 tsp./5 gal

    L) What is the ec/ppm of your unadjusted tap (or filtered) water?250-310ppm
    M) What is the ec/ppm of your nutrient solution?1200 ppm, I slowly worked up to this amount.
    N) What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? (reservoir high and low temps)Ranges between 70*-80*F
    O) Does your ec/ppm show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check?Only when due for a top off it raises about 50-100ppm.
    P) Does the ph fluctuate?Very slowly rises, have to add a little ph down about every other day. Stays between 5.7-5.9
    Q) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you
spray? (Just after lights come on, just before they go out...)No
    R) How often do you replace reservoir water/nutes? What does it look like before changes? (clear, foamy, green, brown...)Previously was doing weekly changes, but have decided to try and run a continuous reservoir until flower. It currently has been 9 days since the last change. Water is staying very clean with just a little debris that has fallen to the bottom of the reservoir.

    Your growroom:
    S) What size of closet, room or hut?3' x 2'8" x 7' about 8 square feet
    T) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off?Lights on = 75*-81*F & 30%-43% Lights off = 71*-75*F & 40%-50%
    U) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom?A random spider and a moth. Both got killed.
    V) Are the roots long and white, or brown and slimy?Long and white with just a little trace of damaged roots from before, but clearing more daily.

    Your strain:
    W) What strain are you growing? (Indica dominate or Sativa dom?)Barney's Farm LSD, Indica
    X) From seeds or clones?Femmed seeds
    Y) Is this an autoflower strain? No

Well there you have it, one troubleshooting form filled out. :hippy:

WashougalWonder: Just noticed that previous link I posted did not work, so here it is again. Would have edited the other post but too much time had passed.

that thread has no picture of the slim so I cant tell you what it is, but I know some nutes make slim too but in the bucket not the plant, we call this nute sludge, you dont get nute sludg with AN products but with others you can get it bad to the point it is like playdogh some one said.......lol playdogh. not to sure on the genetic mutation hypothises, but anything can happen.

I did some looking into my Vanniluna strain, and it turns out that 15% of the seeds will show growth like that! :wtf: (at least for my strain)

It's called Varigated growth, or something like that (SP?) Supposedly, it's not really a problem and the plant will flower fine, but just look all whacked due to some minor genetic hiccup.

    MadSativa,

Thanks for the info on the "nute sludge".
I do have this in my reservoir and just thought it came with the territory. I have contemplated using Advanced Nutrients, but wasn't sure because of cost. You may have given me that extra push to try them out.

    canniwhatsis,

I have tried to do some research online and haven't found much on this. However i did stumble upon a thread on a different site that had the exact same markings as mine. The really interesting thing is it's the same strain that I'm growing.
So it must be some sort of genetic thing going on.

Unfortunately I did not save or wright down the location of this thread, and haven't been able to find it again yet. :wtf:

    MadSativa,

Not using the Botanicare product at the moment. The "nute sludge" is very minimal and not really a problem. Is Botanicare known for this?
