    Withdrawal headache, help

I'm new to mj use, I have chronic sleep problems and anxiety, and I've found an indica veg glycerine tincture very effective (I'm a singer so ingesting it, no smoke, is the only way I can take it). However when I take it every night, if I stop it or take less I'll get a headache the next day. I never get headaches so I know it's from the mj. I'd love to take it regularly, but the risk of these headaches makes it impossible for regular use.

How do medical marijuana users handle ill side effects? Since this seems to happen from the toxins lingering in my system from the mj, would an organic indica help? Can I try different kinds of indica to see if they don't give me headaches after? Do users try different kinds to see which doesn't give them ill effects? Or is it safe to say that this will happen with all mj?

    Thanks.

If what you're doing is giving you headaches, it's time to try something else. A different strain, or a different way of ingesting may be the answer.

    What he said.

When I start to get headaches from smoking joints I'll use only the vaporizer for a while. Or vice versa. It seems that if I stick to one method of use after a while the headaches comes, switching input methods helps me avoid the pains.

Then again, diff strains treat me diff too. IDK what strains do what cause all I ever get a hold of is bag-o-swag so I cant test conclusively.

You might wanna consider a vaporizer. You're not actually smoking it when you use a vape so it'll bypass all the carcinogens and not be bothersome to your throat and lungs.

    Thanks, great advice.

Aren't vaporizers expensive? And when you say "strains" you mean within indica, yes?

I wonder if there are medical mj dispensaries that have a variety of tinctures so I could get a different strain. I got mine in LA.

The strange part is that you get headaches when you DON'T use the tinctures, or don't use enough. That's puzzling. I've never heard of people getting headaches from not using it.
Do you have a health professional you could talk to about it? That would be best.
I think you may be taking a stronger dose than needed, but I'm no doctor. Perhaps you could gradually reduce your doseage a little at a time, or try a less powerful strain.

EDIT: Yes, there are many strains of indica, sativa and hybrids of both. They all have different ratios of active ingredients and varying effects and potencies.

To answer your minor question, yes vaporizers are very expensive. If you want a good one, be prepared to spend AT LEAST $200.

    Withdrawal headache, help

I do think it's some kind of withdrawal/dependence thing from when I use it daily. I'm very sensitive to stimulants; alcohol gives me this painful adrenaline thing where I can't sleep, so I can't drink anymore; no caffiene but chocolate & Yerba mate or I get shaky & OCD. I take a very small amount of the tincture at bedtime when I take it and yea, if I take it every night, if I stop or vary the dosage then headaches. I still think that's getting headaches from taking it since the headaches go away in a day or 2. But what you guys have said has been helpful. Varying the mj strains or finding a better strain would help if I can't also vary the delivery. Too bad I can't really do that right now, but I'll keep it in the back of my mind for when I get the opportunity.

(posting this at 1am bc I can't sleep. Do I want to risk a headache in the am?)

After hearing your thoughts about the tinctures, I'm inclined to think that tinctures may not be the best thing for you or the OP.

We have 2 people now experiencing headaches with tinctures, or the lack thereof.

I'm not a doctor, but I think that you should talk to yours, and try other methods of using cannabis derivatives. Tinctures are not the only way.

Well all the tinctures ive seen are made with strong alcohol. Maybe it triggers the thing that makes you not able to drink?

Its non addictive so there shouldnt be any dependancy issues... There are TONS of way to ingest other than tincture. Try making some cannabutter. You can put it on toast or food, even bake cookies or other food with it!

For a very good vape at a cheap price check out the launch box by magic flight. You can get a kit for about 100 bucks and it has a lifetime warranty.
