Using CFLs will slow overall grow time of an autoflower?

I'm using CFLs right now and the package reads 8-9 weeks from seed to harvest. I harvested on the 9th week on my first, I kind of feel maybe I didn't wait long enough though. Just not as strong of a high as I would like.

Anyways I'm into the 10th week now on my 2nd one and the trichomes are starting to get a good ratio of amber to cloudy. I'm just wondering if CFLs would make an autoflower's overall grow time just a bit longer. Plant also had a mold problem early on which I fixed, but may have caused a more of delay =/

ok i can answer this. I speacalize in auto's. The answer is yes. By about a week. Now depending on the type auto. they may just need the 10 weeks. lowryder#2 is one of them , as well as haze auto. etc.. If you use hps/mh combo through out grow you can yeild bigger numbers.

Cool thanks, that would make perfect sense for my plants then. This is my 2nd Diesel-Ryder. Do you have any recommendations for autos for a future grow?

well it all depends what you are looking for. but the lowryders you are doing are what i started on 8 years ago. There are so many now you just have to try what you think suits you best.for price to yieldroyal queens royal auto or there auto dwarf . have been a long favorite. good consistant smoke in 56-60 days.

i started all these as small clones with cfl, then i added the 175 watt merc vapor. when i had two of the same strain i had four 18 watt (75 watt eq.) over one and put the merc over the other, i noticed a diff in the one that had the merc over it. it grew faster than the one with the cfl. having hid lights is deff better but the grow time is slower with cfl. the way its looking is taht is the only downfall, waiting

CFLs will delay any strain while flowering, not just AFs. sometimes people never get amber trichs indoors. keep in mind that the time frame given is for commercial growers and not necessarily the best time for harvest.

also, as trichs turn amber the THC is degrading. you also have to dry and cure so keep that in mind as well.

that again is true most auto's have solid milky around 8-8 1/2 weeks takes 9-10 to get amber on a 8 weeks from seed breed. But it stil is solid smoke at 8 weeks. keep one longer for your nightcap smoke. this is a 8 1/2 week auto... hps/mh grown

then i added the 175 watt merc vapor.
Mercury Vapor has a terrible light spectrum, with extra heat
