    New grower needs help.

I have been growing for 3 weeks with soil in a styrofoam cup and the plants are around 4-5in tall. I have a hydro grow box and I am wanting to transplant it soon. I would like to know how to transplant it and when I should so if you guys can help a newbie out that would be great

hey Euro, can you be a little more specific about your hydro grow box. what type of setup? what medium? etc, etc.

I bought this. But I am currently growing in styrofoam cups and potting soil but just sitting them in the box with a 12 hour timer. I'm not quite sure how long to wait to transplant them out of the styrofoam and into the box.

I'm not quite sure what you;re saying, but if you have your plants that are in Styrofoam cups under a 12/12 light, then they are already in the flowering mode... typically they should be 16/8 when vegging....so they can grow. they can be transplanted anytime, but the lights on dictate flowering or vegging.

Okay, I'm going to switch the lights to 16/8, but how do I go about transplanting it? What all do I need to get for the transfer? I already have grodan grow cubes to transplant them to.

How long have you been on 12/12? Its not that simple to change to 16/8 because if its been a week or longer at 12/12, it can take 6 or 8 weeks before it gets back on track. When you go from 12/12 to 16/8 its like saying its spring time, while the other way around its fall time and its time to flower.

If you use the small grow cubes (the size of a small sugar cube) there will be no problem changing from dirt. Place your fingers between the main stem and turn the cup upside down, you should be able to pull the cup off with no problem. Then keeping the plant upside down, hold it under a water tap (cold), and slowly rinse the dirt off the plant. You don't have to worry about all the dirt just the majority of it. Then put it into the cubes.
