First real grow(All Females) but need tips

So I ordered 5 pineapple express, 5 g13xtrainwreckxsilver haze, and 1 ak47xbubblegum. But there amonth and 2 days old. Ranger from 12 to 16 inches. But when and how do you no when to change the lights. Also only cut them once and its was between the 4 and 6 set of leaves when started but not counting the little oval ones. Thanks

depends on how much room you have to grow? At 30-45 days of veg. they should be ready.If you have space veg em longer, if not. Go ahead and switch to 12/12 light cycle. it is always a good thought to do your transplant into the container you are gonna flower in as its well . 8-12 weeks of 12/12 should get it done:thumbsup: good luck

ok well transplant? They started in 5 gallon buckets will I need transplant and room wise I have 6 ft of space vertical and plenty room wide for them. Just didnt no if they had to be switch at a special time. There under a 1000w light and 2 flouresence but just wanted to make sure I got a good harvest and the most out of it!!

When you start to flower, 12/12, they willstretch to about twice the height they are when start. they are mature and redy to flower when the branches at the nodes start to stagger as opposed to being directly across from one another on the main stem. I am a new grower too but this is what I have learned by reading and by seeing on my first grow which is on day 38 (10 days of flower). mine have already almost doubled in size just in the 10 days since i switched to 12/12. there are pics in my album if ya wanna check em. there are some at 25 days veg and i just put one up of em of day 38....big difference.

Oh, and the rule of thumb i have been told is 1 gallon per every 12in. of expected final height. so u should be good on the 5 gal. I have heard that it is better to start out in smaller containers when seedlings/clones so the roots don't have to travel so far in the pot, but a little late now. I have also heard of people just starting in their final pots so I don't know if ir really makes a dif.
