That would depend on the client that is paying for the U/A.

But in most cases, the initial assay is 50 ng. If the sample fails that, it undergoes the confirmation GC/MS test with a 15 ng cutoff limit. The GC/MS would be able to issue a quantitative value.

Many POs (in some states in which have no law requiring confirmation testing), in an effort to save a buck, dont bother with confirmation testing. This can be bad news for a probationeer/parolee, who had taken an OTC med that triggered a positive for THC or any other illicit drug on an assay. Without any confirmation testing to overrule the assay positive, the probationeer/parolee can have his/her status revoked and sent back into custody for simply taking the wrong med at the wrong time.
