Perhaps if you describe the issue, someone can help.
I do have one question.
"algae has been completely elimanated from res"
How, exactly, did you do that?
Might just be the problem.
Algae, is relatively harmless.
Some algae killers are not.

Are you asking if the plants would be offended by you smoking cannabis in fromt of 'em? <kidding>
I smoke a few cigarettes in my flowering shed every day, especially on really hot and really cold days. It has adequate ventilation, and it's never been an issue.
If you go to your User CP, and hit the Pictures and Albums tab on the left menu, you can upload pix. But in a post, all you can do right now is add the link to that picture here in your post. A big pain in the ass, but it's best to actually see what you're refering to.
If you have no ph test kit (the ones for freshwater aquariums work fine for newcomers) go online and look for your city water quality report. It'll tell you the local water ph, PPM...stuff like that. then let us know the answers to those questions you had to skip. The info is very important to your ladies.

Your pics look like potential root rot. Can you upload a pic of the roots?
I am by no means a seasoned grower, but that is what I experienced when they got root rot.

Pics of roots have been posted in my album. They are brownish but I think that is due to the nutes?
