2-3 nodes, No, Technically no,... but going without drastically reduces your chances of success. And good luck with that method, Just re-answering question #3

I'm sure your not looking to keep a mum,... but none the less, cloning is covered in this thread. And Bonsai is a badassed mum technique if you have a strain you cant part with!

How big? Just about any size growing tip can be cloned. But a branch with 4 or 5 nodes is best.

First branch on the bottom is usually rubbish...but you can clone it. If you can get it 3 inches tall.

You can just shove it in the ground. But if it roots it will take 10 days longer to grow. Spend the extra money on a rooting hormone. Let your branches get some size and do it right. Remember, Garbage in garbage out.
