    Digital Ballast and Dual Arc?

I just inherited some growing equipment from a bud who was never able to use them. In fact, he's moving so he's left me his stuff.

    1000w Dual Arc bulb (600 hps/400 mh)
    1000w Digital Ballast (Switchable)
    among a few other things

Anyway, he mentioned that digital ballasts need a specific type of bulb. Do you know if this is true? Can I run the Dual Arc or do I need a special type of ballast for that? Some help here please....

    Digital Ballast and Dual Arc?

I just don't know crap about digital ballasts or dual-arc bulbs. My friend told me High Times had an article about using a specific bulb for digital ballasts, but it's hard to go by something he said when he didn't research much before he bought his equipment or ever used it.

I do see what you're saying.

other cool things i got... 6" Cool tube, 6 site grow bucket, 6 site cloner (swc lol), 2.5x2.5x8 grow tent (only 4" exhaust holes ??wtf??) and some gh starter nutes.

Dual arc bulbs are expensive...unless, they were made in China?...they usually have a short chinese life span...(like half a grow?)

Yes, its a cheap bulb he got for 40 bucks on ebay ... Xbrite.
Never been used I thought Id run it for a while to see how it did, lol if not explode... idk about that. Will probably just run a normal HPS bulb.

The ballast is a C.A.P. Xtreme not the new generation but still never fired.

And to your third question..... i don't know what to tell you. im not really sure why you asked.
