Have a good one!
I think he's going to be closer to 8 amps if both lamps are running at once.

(400w + 430w) / 110v
830w / 110v = 7.5amps

Most of the household circuits are 15a. So to rough it out, you can add up watts of everything that's running on the breaker and keep it under 1500
SoCoMMJ Reviewed by SoCoMMJ on . Lighting Situation Hello Everybody! I'm hoping some of you can help me. I have a 430w HPS and a 400w MH light that I would like to use. Can I simply plug them in and not worry, or will this be too much for an ordinary basement. The circut also runs part of my kitchen, and garage (where electricity is seldom used). I have no idea how much amps go through the circut, but lets assume it is a typical household outlet (if there is such a thing). Would that be a problem? Is this enough info to work with?
