A couple questions on how THC binds to the hair
I bought HairConfirm so that I can test myself and see where I'm at as far THC levels in my hair are concerned. Anyway, in their instruction booklet they state that mixing marijuana with other substances, e.g. tobacco, can cause a negative because this inhibits the THC metabolites from binding to the hair shaft. What is the science behind this? How does this happen? Me being a huge fan of spliffs, I imagine this being a good thing.
Also, the FAQ on their website mentions that the bodies of heavy users of marijuana sometimes develop a masking agent that would prevent marijuana from showing on the drug test. What is the science behind this phenomenon? How does it happen?
Obviously I'm not going to rely on these things to pass my upcoming hair test, but I just wanted to know. Thanks for any replies!nodeal Reviewed by nodeal on . About the closest thing to a "body-induced masking agent" would be the body going into "storage mode" when fat-burning activities (such as exercise) cease. Stopping exercise prevents a bunch of THCA from being released in into the bloodstream (as the result of fat cells burning), which would then be filtered by the kidneys and deposited in the bladder for the eventual exit.To view the Board Rules: http://boards.cannabis.com/introduce...ard-rules.html
