    sneaking a smoke

So I'm out of medicine...I have plants in veg, almost ready to flower, and some much smaller ones that are 28 days into flower. I need something to smoke. What part of the plants (veg or flower) will give me the most bang for my buck and hurt the plant the least? I wish I could wait, but I can't. And I'm growing them to smoke anyway. Should I go for some leaves? From the veg or the flower plants? Where on the plant? And how would I dry it--a quick oven dry maybe?

Also, should I take from just one plant, or spread it around?

    Thanks, ya'll. :rastasmoke:

wow....lol....please dont smoke your vegging plants. They have not began to produce trichromes yet and it would be an abuse to your plant and your lungs. As far as clipping flowers prematurely....i personally dont advise it...but jmo.....u gotta do what u gotta do. As far as drying goes....good luck.....if not dried properly its prolly going to suck no matter what.
You should read through the faqs and all the stickies....very helpful when just getting started.

Dude!!! Not only will you damage your plants, but you will not get any medical relief at all..... They are not in the stage of producing any THC.
You would get the same effect as smoking dry banana peels.... nothing!!!

    Peace

Make sure you let the plant dye first, cut a branch off so it can try and use up the remaining nitrogen in the buds. Burning nitrogen leads to a lot of health problems.

if the flowering plant has buds with trichomes and are sticky you can smoke them for a very up high that wont last very long at all, just clips off the smaller ones....

but i would take the time off clean up you tolerance then smoke after harvest,,very well worth it....

but clipping smaller buds wont harm it, but could cause it to go hermi..

Thanks. I've read the FAQs and Stickies....they don't say anything about what to do when you are all out of smoke!

I'll try to just leave them alone and take a t break. Sounds like a better idea.

I've run into this same problem... ended up smoking leaves now and then. Not pleasant at all. Tastes very harsh because of all the nitrogen and doesn't even compare to smoking buds. If you've smoked good bud in the last 2 or 3 weeks you probably won't notice anything from the leaves.

As far as which to smoke, the older the plant - the more potent it gets. I started from the bottom up, clipping the smallest buds that don't get light plus some leaves. I cut the buds and leaves into small pieces, spread them across some tin foil, and put them in the oven on about 70 degrees Celsius, or about 150F. Takes 10-30 min usually depending on the size of the pieces to and how long ago the last watering was.

I am not recommending you do this. Just giving my experience on it. The effect is very mild and short-lasting even with a zero tolerance. Plus all those little buds are very underdeveloped, so one joint now means probably 10 less joints after harvest. :twocents:

    Hello Sprite,

Like Bigtopsfinn said  , start at the bottom of your oldest plant and snip a small popcorn size bud to try.

I recommnend using a vaporizer, rather then trying to quick dry it. Just place the popcorn bud whole into the whip and the thing will dry out as you vape...plus it will not be harsh and it will give you a good idea what it will taste like when FINNished. (Hey bigtops...I made a pun, I crack myself up sometimes)

Awesome, thanks for the info guys. I am still going to try to hold out as long as possible, because I know it's not too good for me or the plants to clip 'em early. I wish I had a vaporizer...
Some of the people that replied earlier are pretty darn lucky if they've never been out of bud and had this problem! !! gah!
