Today, in broad daylight, while I was home, thieves ripped off my two largest, most beautiful plants. Here is my crazy story:

This morning I did my usual rounds, watered & fed the girls, smelled 'em, loved 'em, admired 'em, etc. My dad emailed me around 2pm asking how the plants were doing. I gave him an update, and even took pictures of them to send to him via email. I sent the pictures, and about 10 minutes later I look out my back window, and they were GONE. I thought I was seeing things so I ran outside and sure enough, the two largest plants I had, in the ground, were ripped out and gone. I knew that the plants had been pulled over my neighbor's fence, because the string I had used to stabilize them was up and over their fence. So I flipped out and called my dad who told me to go next door and confront my neighbors (mind you, I am a single mother, about 5'3" tall... not much of a threat, lol). I go pound on their door, and they wouldn't answer... So my dad convinces me to call the police. I am licensed, and where I live the law is very liberal when it comes to pot. So I did.
The police come over, and I asked if they would like to see my license. They laughed and said "no, let me just see the garden". I told the police that I saw the plants go up and over the fence, because I was certain that they did, and at that point I am certain my neighbors had them and were trimming them as we spoke. So, the police officers are investigating, treating it just like any other crime. They go to two of my neighbor's houses, one of which didn't answer (my neighbor's directly next door), and look around. They searched for a good 15 minutes, and came back to my house to tell me that they found nothing.
OH WAIT, IT GETS BETTER!
Right as the police tell me they found nothing, a car driving by caught their attention. They jumped in their cruisers and took off after the car. They left, so I figured I was fucked and just had to accept that my neighbors were gonna be smoking my weed right under my nose...
About 2 hours later, I get a knock at the front door, and it's the police officer that came to my home earlier. He said, "I have good and bad news. We caught the punk asses that stole your plants, but we have to submit them to evidence, and we can't give them back."
SO, here is what happened:
The punk ass kids (13, 14 & 18 yrs old) spotted my plants (somehow, either visually, or by word of mouth), and figured they couldn't just rip them off and walk down the street with them, so they went and stole a car from 1/2 mile away. They came back to my home, jumped my neighbor's fence, leaned over their fence and ripped my plants out of the ground (the plants were at least 6ft tall), and hopped back over my neighbor's fence and drove away. I noticed almost immediately that they were gone, called the police, etc etc. Well, while the police were at my home, the kids got greedy (they figured the first time was too easy, that they would come back and steal the rest of 'em- the small, potted ones). Well, they didn't expect the po-po to be at my house, and as they drove by to scope it out, the police recognized the stolen car and chased after them. They got into a high speed chase, wrecked the car, and the police officer that helped me found my plants in the back of the car.
WOW. KARMA IS A BITCH!!!!! HAHAHAHA.

Anyways, I put so much effort and love into this grow, (you can check out my previous posts, "Plants Breaking, Plant Not Flowering" and "New Grower. Long Time Smoker Grow Log") that I am fucking traumatized. I look at my garden and I want to cry. My medicine is gone, all 1+ pounds of it..
Perhaps now I will switch to indoor. This was all way too traumatizing, and expensive, to get my shit ripped off by some punk ass kids who didn't even know that it wasn't ready to harvest!!!! What a waste... I am so sad.
Beware, outdoor growers. I have two pits (who happened to be inside when they were stolen, today was the only day it has rained here since spring, so they were brought inside), and I NEVER thought it would happen to me. My yard is very secure (well at least I thought it was, lol), and I thought "you've gotta be stupid to jump into a yard with two pits!!" Well, I slipped, brought the dogs in, wasn't alert enough, and it was a crime of opportunity. It could happen to you too! Beware growers!

And please, smoke a joint for me.
