    Light intake temp?

Hi, guys some one was asking me if in the winter months when it gets to 30-0 deg. F. if his lights will be ok or will their be some thermal shock their? he vents his lights from outside air through the light then back out side again? he has never grown in the winter environment and I didn't know if there would be some glass breaking their? I didn't event think of it till he brought it up. I figure those lamps are at about 100F then the air from out side at 15F would that be a problem? how bout if the air is at 40F?

    Light intake temp?

This is my third attempt at forming an argument, which still aint coming.

I say do it although I cant seem to convey any other logic other then that. The air will heat up plenty prior to actually getting to the lamp. Vortex fans tend to warm up a little, plus air can and will adjust temps along the pathway to the light. The cold start would be the only issue I can see, but if your lights are getting down that low when their off, I'd hate to think of what it's doing to your plants. If the plants can make, surely the light will have no complaints either.
