Revegging?
How would I reveg a plant if I like it's traits, but want to harvest the bud? Can I carefully cut the bud and leave the fanleaves then go 18/6 with the lights?

this is a bad idea... even if you cloned the budding plant and reverted it back to veg, it would always be a stressed out plant... and would never produce well. I would not recommend ever doing this, especially to a plant that you want to be a mother!

the second harvest could be as good, if not better than the first as their are more shoots and growth sooner on a re-vegged plant.

Revegging?
Thank you all for your replies. I have a Trainwreck that I picked up as a clone at my local dispensary and she has done better than the others that were purchased at the same time. I think I got 2 Trainwreck clones from 2 different mothers.
She's not stressed right now other than flowering, so could I take a healthy branch and start it as a clone? Just cut it, hormonre it and root it. Would I be better off taking several clones right now to ensure the genetics continue? Or shoud I modestly harvest her wonderful fruit and re-veg?

She's just much more vigorous than my other ladies and has many more(20% or so) trichs than the rest of my ladies. I may change my mind once I sample her fruit, but by looks and history alone she has now been named "Jane". The name comes from a VERY long story, but holds very special meaning to me so I figured I'd share that with my Champion Lady!

i harvested a plant in march. Put it into 18/6 for a month then outside for the summmer. I just harvested again a week ago. With more yield this time . So ya it works. Everyone should try it.That way you can answer correctly.

it's never a bad idea to take several cuts from each plant, just in case.
when in doubt, or confronted with conflicting advice, you can always try both. that way you know beyond a reasonable doubt.

ok, i wouldn't take cuts, i'd re-veg her. you don't need to leave a lot of buds. the more leaves that you leave the better.
i've re-vegged a lady from a straight up stump, so i know it can be done with next to nothing.
if you don't trim the roots and stay in the same size container then when your plant does start to re-veg it will be developing new roots so your pot size will eventually be huge. i mean if you have the space it wouldn't be a bad thing.
sorry if i'm not making sense, i'm stoned way early. lol.
