Those 14w panels are almost useless - too little light. There are similar ones in the 45-55w range which work quite well, but are notorious for burning out the poorly designed power supplies. Stay away unless you can get a rock solid warantee.

I am having good luck with one of the 3 fan, 3 color 120W units. I pulled just under 3 oz from one plant with one.

Prices are pretty good right now. $700 a few years ago and now under $200.

If you need something smaller, some of the 90w UFOs are decent. Again, only get one with a warantee.

Wouldn't it be pointless to use green frequency LEDs? (wouldn't the plant reflect green light?) I don't know which wavelengths would be best used by the plant. I was thinking about doing something where I'd place a couple clones under each frequency and see which one does the best?

As far as I'm aware there are green, red, yellow, blue, orange. I'm sure there are more?

Would depriving the plant of a wavelength of light have any adverse effects?

I tried searching around the forum I couldn't find too much info. I'm trying to design my first grow box. I cant decide if I should go with LED or fluorescent for my seedling chamber. Electricity where I am is about 0.15$/KWH. Doing this as effectively as possible is a primary concern. It seemed that LEDs are the best way to go about that.

2ft, 24 watt, 4 bulb HO T5's fluoros work well. Doesn't even dent my electric bill......6500k is all you need for the first 3 weeks.
