    Simple question?

hey i'm a newbie myself on first grow but i'm thinking in between 72 and 79 depending if you're using co2 or not i've read up to 90 degrees if you have a co2 system setup.

Yes. Plants will esentially stop growing at 90 degrees and above. Some of the sativas like it a bit warmer (low 80's) than their indica/hybrid cousins, who like it between 70-80. So just try to keep it as close to 75 degrees as possible, and you should be fine (assuming you are not growing the prissy pure sativias...yes, they are high maintenance)

Your information is inaccurate by almost 20 degrees.

At about 108 (9% ambient humidity) the plants start to fade, so at 104 or 105 I shut off the lights.

I've been doing it for years, but there are a few tricks and techniques to make the situation tenable. Check my signature for the 'Dealing with heat issues' thread. I just checked about 10 minutes ago...it's a comfortable 95 degrees in my flowering shed with my 1000w HPS running. (97 outside)

But yes, it is easier on the ladies to maintain a reasonable temperature using 'normal' grow techniques and guidelines.

Good to know. I have been under the impression that above 90 degrees is too hot for plants. Mybe that is just the temperature that the large growth spurts slow down in vigor? Either way, it is just information that I have read in a couple grow manuals but nothing trumps actual hands on experience (which it seems you have a lot).

I haven't had to deal with extreme temps, in either direction, yet, as my particular lattitude has a very temperate climate (central coast Cali).

So, in other words, I would listen to what Rusty has to say. I have been reading a lot of his posts very closely. and he definitely seems to know his stuff

Rusty, You really made my day. Ive been worried sick over heating issues in my closet with a T5 6 tube floro. The highest it got was 95 degrees. And 23 percent humidity with empty reservoir and no plants. Three quarters of the way through building my closet room. I'm thinking in the future I'm going to have to invest in a dehumidifier.

Did you read the Dealing With Heat Issues thread? High temps and low humidity isn't something I aim for, it's something I deal with. Would likely be better for you to vent the heat, than to dehimidify. At least in the summer.

But then again...I'd be curious what your temps and RH is when reservoir is full, and plants are transpiring.

Yes I did read your thread on dealing with heating. I have no place to vent to execpt right back into the closet. Wish I could vent better but just not an option. I also plan on flowering under my T5 so when I get to my 12 N 12 light cycle temps should run a bit lower with lights off.

Any way to crack the door while the lights are on? It's not necessarily the heat I'd worry about, it's the lack of fresh air, and the fresh CO2 it contains.

Yeah fresh air is my next concern after I finish installing my inline and charcoal filter. Its sort of a limited amount of fresh air
