first ever grow, have a few questions.

so i starrted my first grow this year, planted her around july, only doing one plant right now just to get the hang of it.

with harvest right around the corner i was wondering why when i look at all the plants on here, theyre so bushy, and full, and wide, and buddy. lol because mine has about a foot and a half of stem on the bottom and then it gradually has nugs growin in random spots, but it still remains one long skinny looking plant.

for a future reference for next years try, how do i get them to bush out.

if u dont get what im sayin just ask me to clarify, i know i kinda butchered my words lol

first ever grow, have a few questions.

topping them at a young age keeps them shorter and bushy

Indoor or out? Almost sounds like stretch. Indoors, add more light, get them closer, or rearrange for better coverage. Outdoors, make sure they are in a spot that gives them plenty of light.

Another thing might be that you planted them in July, which has more red/orange spectrum light coming from the sun. This can make the internodes on the plant stretch (internodes being the length between stem segments/bud points). It might be like growing indoor under HPS all the way through the grow, which apparently cause longer internodes, and thus more sparsely budded plants.

Basically, you may have just missed a particular window of growing time where more blue spectrum light was being let through our atmosphere, depending on where you are growing (i am in central Cali).

But, I am no expert, so this is just a possibility. Maybe post some pics? Good luck

You should be able to post right now. I was able to do so in my first or second post. Just go down past the text box (when in "post mode") and find "manage attachments" under the attachments heading. Click the button and it will give you a couple fields to browse for photos on your comp. Fill the boxes with the images you want, and click upload. Hope this helps.

well if you want big bushy plants this is what i found to work Start indoors under light. Around 1st of march veg em till last frost . Top em and get them stout then place outside in proper dirt. And the rest will happen on its own. Now you will have to care for time to time. I try to get them 2 feet tall with at least 15-20 main colas before placing them outside. Now if you get good seeds with good genetics you can yeild 1/4 -1/2 pound a plant. If you get them in a place that recieves lots of sun
