Watering/flush opinions?
My watering schedule is watering #1 2 tbsp/gallon Grandma's Unsulfured Molasses when top 2-3" of soil is dry (every other day+/-), watering #2 1tsp/gallon regular MG (MG Bloom during flower), watering #3 plain water. I am growing with MG Organic potting soil(which I think will change next grow not because it's been bad, but I'm experimenting and learning and would like to have more control over my nutes) and I am in week 5 of flower. Before harvest, should I run a 2 week flush with plain water? I've heard some say I should include molasses until harvest and others say don't. What do my fellow horticulturalists think?:S5:
P.S. While I wish I had a better yield, quality seems good for my first grow, IMHO.

i say use only plane water the last 2 weeks befor harvest because you dont want bad tasting bud. i will also suggest you leave her in as long as possible most plant really plump up in the last 2 weeks of healthy maturity so keep an eye on them tricomes if there not milky and amber then dont chop imature pot dont taste that good eather it has that green taste also remember the smell and taste comes with maturity.
good luck man and might i add them buds look nice

That's kinda what I was thinking, but I've heard others say that molasses in the last two weeks will plump up the bud, produce a sweeter taste, and promote trich maturity. I kinda think I'm gonna go with straight water though. I've got three seedlings from bagseed that I germinated just kinda playing around so I may experiment with one of those next grow provided I get a female.

when you flush it forces the plant to suck up all of its own nutrient so if you use mico nutrients such as molasses it will only prolong that therfor still giving that green hay taste and also when you flush ur gona lose a lot if not all of ur fan leaves thats because the plant is using up the rest of what its got

My initial thoughts were to flush one week with water only. I would not add molasses as that is not flushing, it's adding molasses. So unless you're over watering or root bound that makes it about 2 waterings a week. A week does not seem long enough to flush the plants. Soil? Perhaps, but it takes time to get all up in those top branches and flowers. IMHO that is, YMMV.

If your trying to put weight on molasses is great. I use it right up to three days before I pull. Never had any complaint about grassy taste ever.Good luck what ever way you go.

I start my molasses around mid-flowering. 1 tsp per gallon, once a week, and I flush 1 week prior to harvest. Nothing but properly ph'd water from final flush till harvest.
Adding more molasses than that can upset the apple cart. (too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing) But some strains tollerate it better than others. I prefer to err on the side of effectiveness rather than damage.

Thank you Rusty. I haven't been a member here very long, but by browsing the forum, I have come to respect your opinion greatly. On my next grow I plan to use straight organic soil rather than MG Organic so I have better control of my nutes. Cut my molasses in half, and REALLY focus on both soil and water ph as I read in Marijuana Buds for Less: How to Grow 8oz of Bud for Under $100. AWESOME read! I'm looking to improve yield at this point since it looks like I should be fairly pleased with the quality on this, my first grow. I couldn't have gotten this far without the help of the cannabis.com members!:jointsmile:

I flush for 2 weeks using only purified water. I can't really compare my results to any others because I have only done it this one way. Perhaps next season a flushing experiment is in order. *Shrugs.*
Oh and be cautious when keeping them in the dark for the last week as it increases chances of them catching a mold or mildew. This late in your grow mold would be devistating. Make sure your grow room is nice and dry before putting them in the dark.
