    my new cfl veg box

i assembled this from R tech 1 1/2 inch foam insulation board with a mylar side, that are 2ft by 4 ft, these pieces are 5.00$ from home depot. i used the foam board adhesive, a couple of hinges, a 3 inch fan and a vent cover i had laying around. i will eventually light it with some 100 watt MH lights used for out door lighting that are 72.00$ each.so far this box has cost me 30.00$ the light fixture i purchased at good will for 5.25$ the surge protector was costly, but it helps to make it safer.

That's pretty darn cool! I've been planning on buying a 5x5' tent, but I just may have to look a little closer at this. How sturdy is it? I would assume you could make a pvc frame, yes?

I built a small table for it to sit on. if you build it bigger you would need some type of simple frame to support it. i made mine so i could roll it around easily. these sheets come in 4X8 footers.

I like it. I wonder if the insulating properties of the material will help or hurt in keeping your temps stable? What kind of tubes are those?

i am not sure of the tube type. these are the ones my neighbor was disposing of. i will check the bulb types later when i get home. as far as the temps are concerned , i will just increase the fan size. i plan on building a filter underneath consisting of the metal filters in the exhaust vent hoods from above a stove. i plan on soaking them in neem oil so as to negativley effect any incoming pests . it will also cover any escaping light.
