in need of guidance, help, knowledge &

some wisdom from some folks that know more than myself.. Ill try to keep it short so i don't bore to many of you...
I'm a 48 yr old recovering alcoholic w/ migraines & I can get meds like zanex, Valium & some barbiturates all day long...I tried it the legal way & after about 4-5 years my mind & soul made "The Endangered Species List" I was losing everything!!!
An associate of my has a son that suffered the same & suggested MJ, well I did & from that point on I never had a head ache like i used to! Its a miracle i say!!... I had to change the way i think now, I had to smoke dope...Went against what I believed!

Now my problem, I am going to have to move from Texas to Colorado, I'm sorry to you folks that don't like Texans or that I'm a Libertarian. I will tell you I am proud to be a CHRISTIAN, I love the USA & I'm a man of my word! That being said I got busted with MJ the other day it could be over a lb & I had lot of guns, thats a no no!!

I have not been arrested as of yet but I will... I am not really worried about the jail time, I more worried about having to go back to the legal way to deal w/my migraines which is a death sentence for me... My ONLY choice is a MMJ safe state & Colorado is the one We (my family,6 ea.) has picked sorry again!! ...
So any directions, suggestions, past experiences would be helpful.Especially Knowledge We consist of 3 adults, 12 yr old & 7 yr old twins cant do big cities (orig, from Dallas) I know I've left out lots of info but I didn't want to carry on, ask anything you wish!

thank you so much in advance!

You were caught with over a pound of weed and lots of guns in Texas and you're not worried about jail time? Even if you got probation and moved here your probation would follow you here and you would be given drug tests and most likely would not be allowed to use marijuana, medical or otherwise.

you've not been charged? you've not been told to stay by a judge?

if that's the case, I'd say it's time to go now!

Texas huh ? Bummer. I would think that the warrant is going to follow you, colorado or not.. Maybe its a question of whether colorado would be willing to pick you up on the warrant and send you back to Texas. Maybe NORML has some advice for you...

all they(Texas Rangers) did was take my pot, they left my guns all of them & i have a savage 30-06, 4 FAL's, 2 SKS's, 5 22's A tec 9, 454 casull, 38 Sp, probibly over 1k of rounds of ammo & half are armor piercing, they did not take nothing but pot!! they did not kill my Doberman, they didn't tear up my house, that didn't call CPS ( i have 3 children) hell the Texas Ranger called my wife & told her to take the kids to the park & i would call when it was all said & done, now the person in charge works for the DPS... Hell they called the BATF&E out of Beaumont for the guns I put together to make sure they were compliant & they believed they were!
They did read me my rights once they found out how many guns I had, hell they left some of the weed(they probibly knew I was going to need it). they didn't tell me not to leave town, they left all the paraphernalia & 3 joints in the ash tray

this is where I will piss off cop haters-I HAVE GOT TO GIVE CREDIT WHERE ITS DUE, THEY TREATED ME WITH THE UTMOST RESPECT, THEY DIDN'T BELITTLE ME OR TRIED TO MAKE ME FEEL LIKES SCUM,THEY DIDN'T EVEN CUFF ME, HELL THERE WERE A COUPLE OF OFFICERS THAT SHOOK MY HAND & APOLOGIZE THAT WE HAD TO MEET THIS WAY, A FEMALE STARTED TALKING ABOUT HER AZALEAS & WHAT SHE WAS DOING WRONG IN THERE GROWTH, THE STORIES COULD GO ON & ON HOW THEY WENT BEYOND IN TREATING ME LIKE A HUMAN & NOT SOME SCUM BAG! i REALLY HAVE TO RESPECT THEM!! THEY WERN'T EVEN SMART ASSES & i THINK THATS A REQUIREMENT FOR BEING A COP.thay all assured me that they were just dion their job
Technically, I am a law abiding citizen, I just can't take what sociality deems ok for the rest of the population, my brains chemical makeups bad!!

I also have never sold or given away one iota of cannabis, this was my personal grow & having a excessive personality (alcoholic) as I do with so many things i just got carried away with my grow, my character defect or flaw, obsessiveness is one of the symptoms.

I have a running 68? passsenger bus I'm thanking about fixing to live in @ mabe a state park for the time being

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!

After reading all that, you got bigger issues to deal with than having to move.

CPS in Co won't deal well with a family of 6 living out of a bus on BLM (Bureau of Land Management,) or "public" lands, Add to that the # of weapons, and the MJ (Still a federal crime for some stupid reason) And your eventually asking for trouble, but as you already said, "Havent been arrested, but will"

If you do chose to go that route, you will have to move your camp every week, at least 3 miles from the last place and stay outside that 3 mile radius for 3 months. Of course the rangers cant really enforce that, but if they do catch you more than a few times you will be charged with squatting. (been there done that, lived out of a tent/back of my car for about 9 months in Glenwood springs, Only got busted by a ranger once, but I never lingered in one place for long.)

Good luck, and welcome to Co! :hippy:

What are your talents? Can you get a job here to get started? Colorado has many beautiful areas, some great mountain towns, the plains, and the larger cities, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Grand Junction.

IMHO, I would move the F#@k out of Texas, Search online, find a job, and get an apartment. I know that is easier said then done but it sounds like you are not going to thrive where you are now. So I will leave you with a last piece of advice that an old man gave me once. "Cowboy up, think of your family, and do what needs to be done."

Hope this helps and enjoy Colorado.

Sorry I didn't make myself to clear, I would not bring my family until I was set up for family living(job, house, yard, dogs & the American dream or @ least a house & job ) I would be the only one to live in a bus that I'll convert to RV status & maybe hook it up to state park lots as a rv, hell I'll even try to work @ one as an attendant so I wouldn't have to pay the lot fee!

I need to be able to communicate with real time people, not stats from 5 yrs ago, i need links to news paper classified, the areas to stay out of, houses that someone might know of because they just read it in a paper, maybe someone has rent property they need to rent out. Someone might own acreage that i could work for my keep! I am willing to do anything moral & legal to survive this gift GOD calls life on Earth

i would give up all my Texas rights & never come back to this state if they would do the right thing & my drop the charges or give deferred adjudication for 10 yrs.

I am that desperate; I have not heard anything as of yet from law enforcement but I want to be prepared just in case the DA says "I'll take you up on it, you got a week to get out of town." I'd do it!!

    thanks for all your help!!

Anywhere near the mountains is EXPENSIVE to live. There's some good folk up there, and if you really want to disappear,.... you can do it in the hills. But it's a tough life to live that way.

The flatlands and major city's are cheaper, work is easier to find, housing is more affordable, and overall cost of living is better.

There's lots of new development east of Denver in Thornton/Commerce City/ Aurora towards the airport. (DIA)

Buddy of mine just got a NEW house that's about 1/3 larger than mine for 40k less than I paid for my house! ( his house was around 185k )

I would aim for somewhere between Denver and Ft.Collins as a starting point.

Hit up the Post/news classifieds for job listings and property's. There's others but that's the first one that comes to mind. Main Categories - Denver Post Classifieds

    Hope that helps!

My talents are few, I been in the restaurant business since 1978, everything you could imagine FOH & BOH managers, cooks & everything in between, I've opened them, changed menus, ordered from vender's,hired & fired. I had 6wks of advance mgt training from the Pillsbury co.(Steak N Ale, Burger king, Key West etc...) If it has to do with the restaurant business I've probibly done it.
my hobbies are working on older vehicles, & until recently I grew MJ( the cops even complemented on how beautiful they were & they have never seen any as pretty), reloaded ammo.
And your right I am going to man up & do WHATEVER it takes to survive the way God intend me to!
    thanks all
