Are you crazy? Denver / Littleton / Boulder (the major cities here) are the most expensive areas you can live in. The mountains (Morrison, west of Boulder, etc) have hundreds if not thousands of cheap houses to buy, many with an acre or ten to boot.

Do a map search of real estate, sort by price, and you'll see that anything INSIDE the 470 "ring" is expensive. Anything outside, including LOTS to the west, is cheaper.

Consider also job availability, commute time and fuel expense. Sure I could have gotten a house on acreage in conifer for less than I'm paying here in thornton, but I'd have a 2 hour commute to work each way vs my current 15 minuets. In that aspect the cost of living makes it unreasonable.

Boulder's prices are plain outlandish,... but have you spent much time in that city? It's a little far afield anyway!

I need you all discussing with me The great state of Colorado, where to live & why! The cities & surrounding areas, the housing market, the employment issue (I know its bad country wide).
half the stats I get on line are from the 2000 census!
don't laugh but I've never lived outside of Texas! so the is a major change for me & family!!
thanks again!!! But I must pick up my children. Be back soon.

I've been reading this thread for the past couple of days and I'm sorry but I have problems understanding why someone owns so many guns. Also have a problem why someone has to let everyone know their religious and political beliefs.

I can tell you why I have guns....

Because a police officer is too heavy to carry around 24/7 on my back to protect me and my family.

I apologize if i have offended you with one of my hobbies(gun smithing), I also thought it was kind of strange that law enforcement would have left them, my motive was to find out if anyone has ever heard of this happening to them or someone else:
Why do people collect anything? If you don't mind me asking, do you have collectibles? Would it have been better if I collected cars, Barby dolls or how about different strains of cannabis, how about life savings like Madoff did; & besides I like to target shoot, its sorta like golf, I've got to get a little ball into a little hole except @ 900+fps; sometimes I even like to hunt.

Your problem with why I would let people know about my religious & political beliefs is to tell people more about me & my belief system. Besides that I am
very proud of who I am & what I believe in & constructive conversation was what I was hoping for, I really did not intend for the power of my words to cause you so much concern or problems understanding someone that you have never met & probibly never will...If you are curious of why I am the way I believe I will be more than happy to invite you to a conversation that could possibly chip away @ the boundaries of ignorance so that we both could walk away winners & having a better understanding of something we did not before I would be more than happy to give you my personal email if you wish.

"I also believe that people are like water, We seek out our own level;"
"Bird of a feather flock together"

I am not here for any type of negativity or more so of malice although I believe some people can't really help it, it is embedded in who they are, I have not met any myself personally as of yet!!

thank you for listening & may we all find what we seek.

i doubt anyone is offended. thing is, you are putting you and your family at risk, especially in a non-medical state.

I'm not saying this is right, but I wouldn't have a gun collection in a house that grows.
