best pot size & plant placement for 8x10 area
what size pot for an indoor grow is best? floor space is 8x10 with 2- 1k HID- ceiling height is 8'- also what would be reasonable # of plants for this space-I am leaning toward 12 to 15 plants-the door opening is in the middle of a 10' wall- placing plants and lights to have access for maintenance is a concern not the most plants for this area- I know outdoors space gives higher yield and fewer problems of disease or pest- all help appreciated- you guys with an 8x10, how do you arrange plants for best production and access?

best pot size & plant placement for 8x10 area
:rasta:Good Day:hippy:
I am no expert and am learning just like you, but I think a rule of thumb is that you should have 12 to 16 plants per 1000 watt bulb. this is what I do right now is I have a 4 X8 sheet of plywood with 6inch sides and I use 3 gallon Plastic Pots, about $ 2.75 each, plus HST Ha ha
Do not forget to turn your plants each day. I have found this a Must, it really helps even out the plants.
I do not know if others do this but I keep my plants evened out, as in height. As some plants grow faster than others in height, so I use small Styrofoam blocks to place under the smaller plant pots so everything is even, nice and level.
Hope this helps.

I agree with all replys.
3 gallon/or 10-12 inch pots; is plenty large enough. Take the pots now and lay them in the total floor light space...(10x10 ft.?)...this will show you your max female flowering plants, total...
I use a cordless drill to drill extra holes. Good drainage is critical. I am currently experimenting with 4 gallon, tall, square, waste paper baskets......tall pots seem better than short round ones?...we'll see....they use a lot of soil...not sure it's worth it?
Good Luck!
