    New Governor

As we all know we will have a new governor soon. Susana Martinez, the republican candidate from Las Cruces definitly opposes the marijuana law, and in public lectures has mentioned that she will oppose it once in office. I'm sure it will be difficult because the state is represented by more democrats. However, Denish has made some negative comments about the medical use law as well. So...........surely don't vote for Susana Martinez and lets hope that the rest of the democratic party will convince Denish to leave the law alone. Then when we eventually get a republican president, there views will come back into play and that is when the DEA will get the memo to take down what ever grow operations that they can find. That was the memo from G Bush. A local grower ordered a small amount of material off of ebay. A ballast, bulb, roll of mylar and some other small items. DEA makes a list, gives it to ebay, and asks ebay to provide all the infor on the people that bought those listed items in the area that they are interested in. In this particular case it was Las Cruces. Low and behold, once my friend got up and running he gets a knock on the door early one morning and it is the DEA. He has a license to use and grow, and his grow was within the legal limits...he only had 2 plants. The DEA took his stuff as in plants and all growing materials....lights and all. They told him it was against federal law, told him to have a nice day and took his belongings. They took 5,000 from his safe and luckly for him he could provide a withdraw slip from his bank account for the 5,000, so he got that back after spending 3000 on an attorny to help. We all still need to be careful.

NM: Martinez Would Repeal Medical Marijuana As Governor
    KOB.com / 8 September 2010 / Jeremy Jojola, Eyewitness News 4; Taryn Bianchin, KOB.com

One of the candidates for governor intends to do away with New Mexico??s medical marijuana law if elected.

Susana Martinez is quoted through a spokesperson in the Santa Fe Reporter saying, ??I would work to repeal the state??s medical marijuana law.?

Eyewitness News 4 asked the Martinez campaign for a written statement on how the candidate feels about medical marijuana. Ryan Cangiolosi, Martinez?? campaign spokesperson, responded with this message:

??Susana Martinez does not support distributing marijuana for any purposes, since it is in violation of federal law. She feels that there are other treatments for patients in need of care that do not break the law.?

*********On the other side of the debate, opponent Diane Denish says she supports the state??s medical marijuana program. A spokesperson sent Eyewitness News 4 the following statement on Denish??s behalf:

??I support the proper use of medical marijuana for the purpose of easing the pain and suffering of individuals battling cancer, AIDS, and other chronically painful or terminal illnesses. No one diagnosed with a chronically painful or terminal illness should be denied a treatment option that has been proven to reduce pain and suffering.?***********

An AIDS patient who wanted to be identified as ??Mary? claims medical marijuana helps increase her appetite after taking so many nauseating prescriptions. She spoke to Eyewitness News 4 at her home on Wednesday.

??Basically it??s kept me alive. If it were not for [medical marijuana] I would not be sitting here. In the last three years, I came close to death twice,? Mary told Eyewitness News 4.

According to the state??s Department of Health, more than 2000 patients have been issued medical cannabis cards.

    New Governor

Las Cruces Sun News had an article about the two and their views. I'll see if I can find it online and link it. It hinted toward Denish being con, but didn't quote her on anything. We don't hear much down here about Denish, but one thing for sure is don't vote for Susana Martinez!

Sorry but I am having a really tough time with the Las Cruces 2-plant DEA story. As to the "Bush Memo," I have no idea what that is; there is a Holder memo telling the Feds to lay off in states where mmj is legal. I can't believe they can just get your purchases off ebay without a warrant / court order. I really hope this is sort of fantasy story.:rastasmoke:
